Our case studies describe the services we provided for some of our client partnerships, the feedback we received following our programs, and the impact our training had on their leadership team and organization as a whole.  Scroll down to read a small sampling of our success stories!

WHAT WE DID...

We first conducted EQ assessments for the senior executive team, and debriefed each on their results.  From there, we delivered a keynote at their company-wide retreat, and then trained facilitators to run smaller group sessions incorporating the learning from the keynote topic.

Afterwards, we facilitated a 2-day retreat with their senior team, and each leader walked away with detailed action plans based on their development opportunities.  Every senior executive was given private EQ coaching, reinforcing what was covered in the retreat, and working on their action plan.

We were then asked to conduct EQ assessments, another two-day retreat, and follow up with coaching sessions for the mid-management team.

WHAT ROWMARK HAD TO SAY...

“I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to many training initiatives in my career, but there is no doubt that Carolyn’s training and her feedback were the most transformative for me personally and for our people of all.

Carolyn took our Team through an exhilarating and challenging process that helped everyone learn about themselves and others. It was amazing at how close the Team quickly grew together and how former communication gaps melted away.

[This program] was transforming for many of our people. This proved to be the most beneficial learning ever for our entire Team.”

Duane Jebbett, Retired President & CEO

THREE GREATEST BENEFITS...
  1. Greater self-awareness and more tools on how to improve our own behaviors.
  2. By learning to accept others, we built relationships on a much deeper level.
  3. The result is a renaissance in productivity, respect for each other and a positive environment to flourish in.

“AUTHENTICITY IS KEY”

WHAT WE DID...
  • Perception Analysis
  • EQ Assessments
  • Leadership Development Workshops
  • Emotional Intelligence Coaching

We conducted a perception analysis, speaking with 50 external and internal stakeholders.  This kind of analysis allowed us to acquire candid feedback which drew attention to some significant gaps preventing them from taking the next step to evolve and grow.

From there, we administered EQ assessments, highlighting the strengths and development opportunities of each leader from both the senior executive and mid-management teams.  Then, we designed, built, and delivered six customized leadership development workshops, and provided both individual and group coaching sessions for each leader.

Every learning experience was designed to introduce, train, reinforce and support the practical application of the leadership behavioural and mindset changes they were learning throughout the entire program.

WHAT RICHMOND STEEL RECYCLING HAD TO SAY...

“Carolyn taught my team the value of authenticity in relationships by breaking down the elements in a way that the team members could understand.

Some of the sessions were very touching and got very personal, leading team members to better understand each other’s backgrounds.”

MIKE WATSON

PRINCIPLE, IGNITE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

What advice do you have for a company hesitant about investing in emotional intelligence?

"Engaging in EQ advisory coaching is a tough decision to make, its soft skills, it costs a lot of money and it’s hard to see the immediate benefit of it, and I say to you this, make the investment. Make the investment. We all use the platitudes that it's our people that make the difference and whatever other adage gets thrown out there, put your money where your mouth is, because the people that work for you deserve the absolute best from their leaders. If you’re not investing in that, you're missing the boat."

BRAD RUDOVER

FORMER NON-FERROUS MANAGER, RICHMOND STEEL RECYCLING

How does emotional intelligence impact a company’s bottom line?

"Emotional intelligence and results, in terms of financial and being successful as an organization, they definitely relate because of the morale of the overall company. If there is a non-personal touch to it, people are just coming in to do their job and they are gone. By having relationships, you definitely build that rapport with people, then all of sudden, they are happier, more willing to come in with a better attitude, do better work. It shows in their communication. It kind of builds from there, laying that foundation is essential."

WADE PUGH

VP FOODSERVICE & HOSPITALITY, CHEWTER'S CHOCOLATES

What competitive advantage does emotional intelligence training offer?

"Emotional intelligence helps companies become better production workers and managers. Overall, the training instills confidence in what they're doing and they strive to create more opportunities for growth because their attitude is much better. Emotional intelligence training encourages employees to want to be here and make a pleasant place to work. Emotional intelligence has shown us that it's not all about the bottom line, but rather, it is about developing a good place to work with people you enjoy working with."

MIKE LEONARD

PRESIDENT & CEO, BC MARITIME EMPLOYERS ASSOCIATION

What would you say to businesses that are skeptical about investing in emotional intelligence training?

"Before this emotional intelligence training I was skeptical! I thought I knew best since I've been doing this for a long time. I work in the people business and I know people best, but what this taught me is that may not be the case in all respects. Emotional intelligence training gave me self-realization that if I can put it in those terms and really broke the ice in terms of being able to openly understand people on a different level. Exploring it for all it's worth, in terms of your journey, I think the ability to connect with people in a meaningful way has really opened up a lot more possibilities for me as a leader.  As a manager of people on behalf of a private sector enterprise, emotional intelligence has really opened up some doors that I've never seen before prior to actually working with Carolyn. I think emotional intelligence really has the potential to unleash potential, but it takes going through the process and some commitment to realize those gains don't come easy, but it's well worth the investment."

JILL BUCHANAN

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES & COMMUNICATIONS, FRASER SURREY DOCKS

What are the benefits of utilizing emotional intelligence training in your company?

"Emotional intelligence really helps frame the culture of an organization. It tells the people on your team that you care about them and that you're spending that time to learn about who they are as people inside and outside of work. Overall, emotional intelligence training really allows employees to improve themselves both in the workplace, but also in that the rest of their life which is what we all work towards."

ROB GREENHOW

CHOCOLATIER, CHEWTER'S CHOCOLATES

What was your key takeaway from emotional intelligence training?

"I didn't really believe in the process of emotional intelligence training in the beginning, but after going through the exercises it was very educational. Emotional intelligence training really does help you grow as an individual and step out of your comfort zone. The training allowed me and my team to tackle the “unknown” and find more about ourselves during the process."

JEFF SCOTT

PRESIDENT & CEO, FRASER SURREY DOCKS

How has emotional intelligence training transformed your team members?

"There have been many transformations among teammates with emotional intelligence training. There's been some more significant than others, but a great degree of people are coming out of their shell. People are feeling more comfortable being more open and being able to take feedback more effectively.  It's really about finding the emotional piece that drives some of your behaviour, so understanding why you are acting behave a certain way."
